“Tears of a God”
“Tears of a God” is my first officially published painting. The beginning process for this painting was difficult. I like to give my paintings meaning and the meaning for this particular piece is spiritual. The eyes are windows to the soul and the opposing colors clash with one another yet they work with each other. You can say it symbolizes the balance within ourselves. these chaotic feelings as we go through life trying to find ourselves.; our true selves.
It’s messy yet despite the clashing of colors, they work in harmony too. They work together to make the painting come alive. So why the tears? The mixing of human blood and a god’s blood.
We are the creators of our reality, our own lives. Does that also mean we are like god. he creates and destroys, we create and destroy. We have the power to change anything yet we believe we don’t however that is a topic for another time. My main focus is on the bloody tears at the moment. Tears don’t happen when we’re sad, sometimes we cry when we’re happy, we cry when we’re mad, and we cry from passion. it can mean any of those things as our spirit and our body work together to navigate through life. It also symbolizes my pain and the enlightening lessons I’ve learned along the way.
The iris is just another symbol of who we are spiritually and physically, and how that blends into us right now. but the pupil is what I want to emphasize in my little essay here. it’s pitch black, no reflection or anything.
It means unknown. You can view it as something new to explore or you can run away. The choice is always yours to make because it’s always there waiting to be acknowledge.
